Hips ‘n Harmony is the premiere female a cappella group at the State University of New York at Geneseo. Composed of thirteen talented females, Hips ‘n Harmony acts a dedicated philanthropical group which donates many of its proceeds to charity. Founded in
1997 by Maureen Mullaney and Mary Rose Bayer, Hips is a traveling group of passionate and talented musicians who sing a broad variety of music in a wide array of venues.
When does Hips ‘n Harmony perform?:
Hips ‘n Harmony typically hosts three concerts in each academic semester. These concerts take place on the SUNY Geneseo campus. We have also performed at fund raisers, benefits, and events off-campus in the Rochester and Buffalo area. This includes, but is not limited to weddings, birthday parties, corporate events, and seasonal parties.
What genres of music does Hips sing?
Hips ‘n Harmony does not limit itself to any genre. Our repertoire has spanned music from every decade since 1960. Hips ‘n Harmony has the ability to adjust our repertoire to the needs of our audience. Artists we imitate include, but are not limited to the Beatles, Sheryl Crow, The Chiffons, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Lady Gag, KT Turnstall, and many more.
